Paula Abdul Responds

Finally, Paula Abdul responds to the news of Ellen Degeneres replacing her role as one of the judges of American Idol.  Paula said ”

“AMERICAN IDOL is a fantastic show that offers an invaluable platform to young talent. Ellen DeGeneres is wildly funny and talented in her own right.

I wish her and the show only the best of luck. Hope it’s comparable to Las Vegas Shows.

Ellen also spent time chatting with Ryan Seacrest and shared her thoughts on being one of the judges (source: perezhilton.com). 8)

On her qualifications for being a judge:
“The people are the ones that choose the American Idol. Ultimately it doesn’t come down to some expert in the music industry, it comes down to everybody at home that says ‘that’s the person I relate to, that’s the person that I’m going to buy music from’.”

On her judging style:
“I’m not going to be mean, I hate when Simon Cowell is that mean. You can be constructive and criticize somebody that’s helpful instead of mean spirited.”

On Paula Abdul’s departure:
“I hope Paula [Abdul] is okay with it. I don’t want anybody to think I took Paula’s job away. I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in. I certainly don’t want to be that person that is the evil taking Paula’s job away.”

Taylor Lautner in New Moon

Taylor Lautner  has gone a long way from being the lanky native american Jacob Black to the buffed up wolf man in New Moon (check the photo above ;) ). Even co-star Kristen Stewart couldn’t help but notice Taylor’s improvements not only physically but mentally as well. Kristen Stewart stated in an interview that 17-year old Taylor has altered not just by gaining some extra pounds and a whole new sixpack — but he is mentally stronger too. Kristen’s definitely impressed with Taylor. His new physique has gotten girls and even guys ;) drooling wanting more of him in New Moon!

Watch this new trailer video with Taylor Lautner  explaining more about his character.

Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy together again?

Nah! Not in real life but in a movie! Rumour has it that James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie will be among the cast for the sequel of Wanted this coming 2011. I guess you’re wondering why Angelina Jolie is among the rumoured cast when she died in the first. Apparently, the director is planning to revive her character using the healing baths which the characters took to repair themselves after so much gun-toting mayhem. Angelina Jolie is a great actress and she played her character as “Fox” really well during the first Wanted movie last year. While James McAvoy had recently been considered one of Hollywood’s hottest leading actors.

According to imdb.com, Angelina Jolie had been given the script for the movie since director Timur Bekmambetov wanted her back. But will Jolie still be interested in the role? That we’ll have to find out. I’m crossing my fingers for” this one since I really enjoyed the story. Both Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy are HOT!!! I’ll certainly keep you posted for any updates on Wanted 2.

Stephenie Meyer sued for Copyright Infringement

This news shocked me since I’m one of Meyers many fans. Just recently another writer named Jordan Scott sued Stephanie Meyer for her 2008 Best Selling book Breaking Dawn. According to Ms. Scott, her 2006 Vampire novel, The Nocturne, contained many situations that are similar to that in Breaking Dawn. Stephanie Meyer’s publisher, Hachette Book Group, was undaunted by the suit, claiming that this was a just another publicity stunt to further Ms. Scott’s career.

I’m not really sure what my opinion would be on this since I’ve never read Jordan Scott’s book entitled, The Nocturne. I guess she would need to point a lot of “similar situations” from Breaking Dawn with her book to really claim that there was indeed an infringement. If not, then I would I agree that this could be just another publicity stunt since people would be curious to find out whether her claims are true. An increase in sales of The Nocturne would be undoubtedly expected.
