The Beautiful Life – Axed?

CW just called off the production of Ashton Kutcher’s series, “The Beautiful Life” starring Mischa Barton, after only two episodes. It was reported that the show’s debut lost 60% of audience of its lead-in, “America’s Next Top Model,” while the second episode only attracted 1 million viewers (source: Amy & Nancy Harrington, GetBack.com). On the other hand, “The Vampire Diaries,” which premeired last Sept. 10,  is gaining popularity and building its audience.

The Vampire Diaries

Vampires are just HOT HOT HOT nowadays! :-D A new show will premiere tomorrow, Sept. 10, 2009 in the CW and CTV entitled the Vampire Diaries. The Vampire Diaries is a young adult horror series of novels written by L.J. Smith, a NYT Bestselling author of the Night World series. The show centers around Elena Gilbert, a high school girl torn between two vampire brothers. I wonder how this show would compare to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga or Charlaine Harris The Southern Vampire Mysteries, basis for Alan Ball’s True Blood. 8)
